All I Want For Christmas is You: A Nelena Mini-Movie Part 4
Nick: He smiles and keeps strumming, while Selena dances around the kitchen, circling him around the kitchen island.
Selena and Nick: “He’s the devil in disguise, a snake with blue eyes, and he only comes out at night. Gives you feelings that you don’t wanna fight, you better run for your life!’
Selena: She hops on the island as Nick is standing at the counter across the room. “Oh, you’d better run for your life… You’d better run for your life!” As soon as the song ends, they are both laughing, and Nick comes and takes her hand as she jumps off the countertop. Her cheeks are pink from laughing so hard, and so are his. They’re both breathing hard from dancing and singing.
Nick: “Wow..” he pants, trying to catch his breath. “Your voice is powerful.”
Selena: She smiles at him while trying to catch her breath. “Thanks. You’re not so bad yourself!”
Nick: He chuckles and puts his guitar down in a chair on the table. “We’re…crazy.”
Selena: She laughs breathlessly, then sniffs the air. Smoke. The fire alarm goes off, and she turns around to see smoke billowing from the oven. “Nick!” She says, then opens the cabinet for the fire extinguisher. He takes it and opens the oven, spraying down the flames with the foam.
Nick: He puts the fire extinguisher down and peers inside the oven to see biscuits charred black. He snorts, holding back a laugh.
Selena: “Shut up!” she exclaims, and pushes his chest. “I’d like to see you cook!”
Nick: “Touche.”
Selena: She rolls her eyes then turns back to the stove to check on her eggs. “Shit!” The yokes had burst, and the skillet was full of a yellow mess. “I’m such a fail..” She says, then starts to laugh. “That’s what Pop-Tarts are for, right?” She walks to the closet and takes out a box of Strawberry Pop-Tarts and puts two in the toaster.
Nick: “I haven’t had that much fun in a long time..” He smiles at her and she crosses her arms.
Selena: “Well, I’m glad I could entertain you!” She says sarcastically, and sticks her tongue out at him.
Christmas Eve…
Nick: He sits up in bed and stretches, after a much-needed nap, immediately reaching for the notebook and pen Selena had let him use over the past few days. He was almost done with the song he wanted to give Selena for Christmas. He couldn’t help it, but he felt something between him and Selena…even if she did have a boyfriend. All he could hope was that she wouldn’t hate him for confessing to her…confessing that he could be falling for her. He buried his head in his music again, until Selena walks into his room. He closes the notebook and looks up at her. “Hey, Sel..”
Selena: She looks down at the notebook. Whatcha hiding in there?
Nick: “Hiding? Psh, Im not hiding anything in there.. Psh.”
Selena: She raises her eyebrows at him and steps toward him. “Then let me see the book..”
Nick: He covers up the book with the sheet. “I don’t think I can do that.”
Selena: “Nick! Let me see, if you’re not hiding anything!”
Nick: “No!” He takes the notebook and puts it in the drawer beside the bed.
Selena: “Nick…” She takes another step toward him, speaking each time she steps. “Let. Me. See. The. Book!!” On ‘book,’ she jumps toward the drawer and gets the notebook out, but before she can open it, Nick starts tickling her. “Eeeeppp!!” she squeals, dropping the book. “Nick!”
Nick: He smiles teasingly at her. “I told you not to look.”
Selena: She sits on the bed with him for a second, then turns to him. “There’s this Christmas party later…I was wondering if you wanted to come with us? Someone from school is throwing it.”
Nick: “Are you sure I’d be welcomed there?”
Selena: “Of course!” She didnt want to lie, but that was the only way she could get him to come. She couldn’t deny the feelings that had developed over the past week, but the only person standing in between them was Taylor. She couldnt just break it off either. Even though she liked Nick, the feelings were definitely still there for Taylor. She loved him, and he loved her.
Nick: “Okay, I guess Ill go…But one question?”
Selena: “Anything.”
Nick: “Won’t your mom be upset that I’m wearing all of your dad’s clothes?
Selena: Her face turns into a grin. “Yeah, she mightYou know what that means?”
Nick: “Oh, no” He chuckled. He was pretty sure he could see dollar signs in Selena’s eyes.
Selena: “Oh yes!”
Nick: “Sel..Do you have any idea how busy it is on Christmas Eve?”
Selena: “Yeah, that just makes shopping more fun!” She hops up from the bed and runs down the hall. “I’ll be ready in 15 minutes!”
Nick: He rolls his eyes and stands, smiling at Selena’s innocence. That was one of the things he loved about her. She was so innocent, so modest. That was pretty hard to find these days…
